Plant a Tree Program
Ordering for 2024 is open! Click here to reserve your trees.
Our Plant a Tree Program will occur in Tennessee on April 20, 2024. We aim to distribute 7,500 native trees to be planted in yards to improve our environment and communities. Planting trees is one of the most important things we can do to make a difference in our air, land, water, and communities. Planting native trees in our yards offers great benefits, including increased property values, cleaning our air and water, providing shade and habitat for wildlife, and so much more.
Since the launch of our Plant a Tree program in 2021, we have helped 6,000 participants plant over 23,000 trees in TN.

Tree Planting & Care
Please read these instructions before ordering. Tree seedlings are 1 -3 feet tall and will be bare-root (not in a pot). They are available for pickup only (no shipping) at the location you select at checkout. Trees must be reserved in advance. We cannot accept donations for trees at the pick-up sites. Reserve and pay for them below by date TBD.
Please be sure to visit this link for FAQs including planting and care tips, information about the tree species, and what to do if you missed your pickup or are missing trees!
Volunteer to Hand Out Trees
Help us hand out trees! You will organize bare root trees by species and hand them out when people come to collect the trees they've ordered. This is a great community service project opportunity for churches, scout troops, other organizations, and individuals.

Tree seedlings planted in Tennessee will count toward Tennessee Environmental Council's goal of 1 million trees. Tree seedlings planted in Davidson County, which survive one full year after planting and are registered through a simple process, will also count toward the Root Nashville goal of 500,000 trees.
