Plant a Bigger Tree for Tennessee Starts in August!
This fall, Green Interchange is launching Plant a Bigger Tree for Tennessee, an effort to distribute small seedlings of native trees and shrubs to communities across Middle Tennessee. Our goal is simple: to green Tennessee—one tree at a time—by making native plants more accessible to the public and building a healthier, more resilient region for all.
These trees don’t just beautify—they cool our streets, clean our air, and support mental and physical well-being. And you can be part of this growing movement.
We're currently looking for distribution sites—churches, businesses, or community groups with a bit of space and a heart for service. Hosting is easy, and it makes a big impact. We're also inviting community members to sign up for volunteer opportunities as we get closer to launch. Want to help? Subscribe for updates and learn how you can get involved at greeninterchange.org.
Trees provide numerous benefits to humans and the environment, motivating us to keep planting. Since the launch of our Plant a Tree program in 2021, we have helped 6,000 participants plant over 23,000 trees in TN.

Tree seedlings planted in Tennessee will count toward Tennessee Environmental Council's goal of 1 million trees. Tree seedlings planted in Davidson County, which survive one full year after planting and are registered through a simple process, will also count toward the Root Nashville goal of 500,000 trees.
