On June 24th, we're heading back to Spring Creek—and we'd love for you to come with us. We've got 150–200 trees already in the ground along Old Hartsville Pike in Lebanon, and they need one thing: mulch. The mulch arrives pre-unloaded, so your job is simply to spread it around the trees and watch the creek corridor get a little more beautiful. Sounds fantastic, right?!
It runs 1:30–4:00pm CST, anyone is welcome, and no experience is required. Just show up ready to get your hands in the dirt. Hope to see you soon!
Earlier this year, Green Interchange headed to Wilson County, Tennessee, with a big goal: restore and stabilize 950 linear feet of Spring Creek — and eventually get it removed from the state's list of impaired waterways. Spring Creek has been struggling with erosion and excess sediment, meaning dirtier water, degraded habitat, and real consequences for the farms and communities that depend on it. Funded through a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, our team got to work installing erosion control structures and hosting community volunteer planting days, putting native trees and vegetation into the ground along the restored banks. And we're not done yet. Green Interchange is heading back out to Spring Creek soon (June 24th, 2026) to mulch the newly planted trees — a critical step that helps retain moisture, suppress weeds, and give those young roots the best possible start. This isn't just a construction project, it's a community one, and every tree mulched is another vote for a healthier creek corridor. Cleaner water, stronger farmland, and a creek that actually belongs on the landscape again: that's what 950 linear feet of restored streambank looks like when the work is done right.
